The 1977 U.S. Open Championship was the 77th U.S. Open played June 16-19 at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Hubert Green won the championship.
While the final eighteen holes was being played, a woman called the FBI office in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to say three of her friends were on the way to the golf course and were planning to shoot Hubert Green on the 15th hole.[1] Green finished the tournament with police around him.[2]
